The U.S. established Native American Heritage Month (NAHM) to honor and recognize Indigenous Peoples as the first peoples in the United States of America, and this month we’re celebrating through the global lens of Indigenous experiences.
Throughout our month-long series of virtual and in-person events, we’re acknowledging all worldwide Indigenous members of our company and communities by celebrating the rich, resilient, and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories of Indigenous People, in the US, and globally.
We’re kicking off with a 1-hour breathwork meditation session with Deoné Newell (Diné/half Naahiłií), focusing on releasing and clarity. We’ll follow that with a fireside chat featuring our Head of DEI, Traci Mack, Senior Director, Strategy & Ops, Katie Egan, and Director, Brand Strategy, Jennifer Richardi, around how Employee Resource Groups can drive business impact and how ERG community perspectives and insights can help shape inclusive products and services.
Cynthia Wilson will also join us to share knowledge around Indigenous land conservation and food sustainability she’s acquired through her work.
At DoorDash, we will continue to prioritize investing in and advancing opportunities for historically underrepresented people through our efforts as a company and by encouraging learning and development.
During Indigenous Heritage Month and throughout the year, a land acknowledgement recognizes, respects, and affirms the ongoing relationship between Indigenous people and the land. Enter your local address into the Native Digital Land database to locate the lands you occupy, languages spoken, and associated treaties to the address you enter.
