Unlocking and Igniting Your Leadership Potential: Perficient’s Leading With Impact Program

    August 21, 2024

Perficient’s mission is to be the place where great minds and great companies converge to boldly advance business. Our success is because of our people, and Perficient fosters a dynamic professional environment that recognizes the unique strengths and career aspirations of each colleague.

Through our award-winning Growth for Everyone initiative, we’re providing our colleagues with tools and resources to help them advance their skillset and understand their true potential at Perficient.  We recently shared an update about Perficient’s Learning to Lead Program, and we are excited to showcase another incredible leadership development program – Leading With Impact.

Empowering Professional Growth Through Expanded Leading With Impact Program

Perficient recently updated its suite of leadership development offerings to include more programming for everyone to excel – no matter their role. We retired “one size fits all” offerings in favor of more diversified, global offerings that holistically reflect the Perficient leader experience. Reintroduced in 2023, Leading With Impact is the flagship program for global people leaders with curriculum focused on building leadership capabilities and fostering stronger relationships with direct reports.

As part of the program, participants spend six months understanding what it takes to be a successful leader while developing skills to bring to their team. Through these informative and in-depth sessions, colleagues developed key leadership skills by learning how to communicate effectively, collaborate with purpose, and empower their teams for success. By the end of the program, people leaders are equipped with knowledge and strategies to effectively lead and inspire their teams to achieve their professional goals.

Colleagues From Our First Graduating Class Share Their Experience

To date, 177 colleagues have successfully completed the Leading with Impact program, with more colleagues set to graduate from the program soon.  As colleagues around the world continue enhancing their skillsets at Perficient, let’s hear from previous program graduates as they share their perspective.

“I have gained incredible knowledge from the Leading with Impact program,” said Asokraja Somasundaram, technical architect, Chennai. “The training is relevant to my job, and it was well organized. I learned a lot of new things about decision making, solving issues, and supporting my team members effectively. Cross-cultural activity provides an opportunity to interact with colleagues across regions and the chance to share ideas with one another. The course has given me more confidence when dealing with a crucial conversation with clients and team members to get the right solution quicker.”

“Learning the importance of effective communication and collaboration was a valuable takeaway from the Leading With Impact program,” said Mitch Sims, marketing manager, Corporate Marketing. “In a global company like Perficient, collaboration is essential. Throughout the program, I gained the skills to effectively collaborate on a global scale, build high-performing teams, and achieve my goals with a strong, cohesive multimedia team.”

“The Leading With Impact program allowed me to acquire and improve my leadership soft skills,” said Camila Sierra, lead business consultant, Colombia. “Thanks to this program, I was able to learn new leadership methods, procedures, and styles. Now, I understand how to implement those best practices with my team. I learned that taking the time to get to know people fosters a more collaborative environment and improves communication in difficult situations.”

“Through this program, I had the opportunity to enhance my leadership skills and broaden my perspectives,” said Richa Kapur, technical architect, Adobe. “It was a great learning experience to understand different scenarios and how to tackle them. Participating in live discussions amongst members of different geographical locations and attending sessions from external speakers was inspiring. A few concepts I will take with me forever are the importance of providing immediate feedback and understanding different cultures when working with team members from around the world.”

Taking People With You: The Path to Successful Leadership

The Leading With Impact program curriculum delves deep into the core principles of what it takes to become a successful leader, with an integral component encompassing how to effectively manage a team. Participants gain a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to motivate and guide their teams on the path to success.

Key themes from the program include:

Having a clear vision and outlining the steps to achieve your goals
Being a role model for members of your team
    Providing immediate constructive feedback
Promoting active listening and creating a space for collaboration amongst team members

From fostering strong relationships with direct reports to navigating complex situations, Leading With Impact equips participants to become confident and inspirational leaders.

“Learning what type of person is receiving your message and how they like to receive it makes all the difference in communication,” said Camila. “I also learned how to handle difficult conversations and make the best of any situation that takes me out of my comfort zone. Finally, leading by example is the key to getting people to see you as a leader who adds value.”

The program also shares insight into understanding your team’s strengths to better enable the success of others. “I learned the importance of self-awareness,” said Mitch. “It taught me to understand my team’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as my own as a leader. I also gained skills in managing emotions and reactions, which has made me more effective in my role and improved my relationships with colleagues.”

Our Leading With Impact program underscores Perficient’s commitment to nurturing leadership talent from within and fostering meaningful connections across our global organization. By empowering leaders to succeed, we’re creating a positive ripple effect. Stronger leaders build unified teams, and the strength of those teams drive innovation and propel the company forward.
