Some of the announcements coming to Laracon US

    August 19, 2024

On the recent Laravel Podcast, Taylor and Matt discussed some of the announcements coming out at Laracon US. You can watch the full video below:

    <iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/VVKxu_KzG1g?si=jlLqVnE9UgO0qQlU” title=”YouTube video player” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share” referrerpolicy=”strict-origin-when-cross-origin” allowfullscreen></iframe>

Here is the transcript for the important parts:

    New Inertia “stuff”

    Taylor Otwell:

Yeah, I know. I feel like I’ve been really quiet on social media lately, but honestly, it’s because we’ve been so busy working on stuff for Laracon. It’s not even really event-related stuff, but it’s like the stuff we would like to unveil at Laracon. You know, I think we’ve just been very deep into working on a lot of that stuff. So I’m excited. I’m excited, also nervous for the event. A lot of big stuff is coming, but it’ll be fun.

    Matt Stauffer:

Okay, so we all should look forward to Taylor’s announcements. What day are you speaking? Are you at the end of the first day?

    Taylor Otwell:

Yeah, I’m at the end of the 27th. And I tweeted last night, you know, we’ve got a lot of announcements really across the whole ecosystem. Like, Livewire, I know Livewire stuff is coming. That’s mainly via Caleb at the start of the second day. And then we have a lot of inertia stuff coming, which will be shown during my talk.

I know there have been a lot of people who have wanted new Inertia goodness for a while. So those people will be really happy. And some other open source stuff as well. And then some, some new products we’ve been working on. So it be, it should be a packed talk.

The “some new products” is pretty vague, but it sounds like it might be some pretty exciting things.

    Livewire Flux?

I’m reaching out to let you know I’ve spent nearly every day this year working on the most ambitious project I’ve tackled since Livewire itself.

It’s called “Flux”. It will change the way you write your apps.

I’m keeping it a ~secret for now, but will be demoing and launching it on stage at Laracon US in a couple weeks. (August 28th)

It’s been a looooong time since I’ve been THIS excited about a project (ok, maybe I was also this excited for Livewire 3 last year…), and I can’t WAIT to smack you in the face with the goodness of Flux

This is according to a Reddit post.

    Pest v3

Nuno also has teased out that Pest v3 will be announced and it’s going to come with:

    – ta** **********
    – arch *******
    – ******** testing

Guess we will just have to see what all that is 🙂

    Pinkary will go open source

Nuno’s other new project Pinkary will also go fully open source.

    Live stream!

    Taylor also tweeted:

We are planning to live stream my keynote at Laracon to our YouTube channel. Totally free. 🎥

So, if you don’t get to attend, be sure to watch that or follow us. We will cover all the big announcements on the site.

    Laravel News at Laracon

I plan to be at Laracon, so be sure to say hello. With 950 developers attending, it’s going to be a huge event, and I can’t wait to see everyone in Texas!
