    The Lost and Found System project is a web-based application designed to assist users in reporting and recovering lost items. Developed using PHP for server-side scripting and MySQL for database management, this project aims to provide an efficient, user-friendly platform for managing lost and found items. The primary goal is to streamline the process of reuniting lost items with their rightful owners through a centralized system. It serves as a centralized database that stores vital details about found items. The system is crucial for ensuring the data on the items found is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.

    MODULES: This project contains two modules i.e.

    Admin

    User

    MODULES DESCRIPTION:

    Admin Modules

    This module provides administrator-related functionalities. The administrator manages the entire application.

    Dashboard: In this section, admin can briefly view the total registered users, total listed found items, total claim request, total new request, total in-process, claimed items and total rejected request.

    Listed Found Item: In this section, admin can view the details found items by users.

    Claims: In this section, admin can view the claim request.

    Report: In this section, admin can generate following report.

    B/W Reg Users: In this section, admin can generate between dates report of registered users.

    B/W Dates Claim Request: In this section, admin can generate between dates report of claim request.

    Website Setting: Below is the following setting of website

    About us: In this section, admin can update about us of webpage.

    Contact us: In this section, admin can update contact us of webpage.

    Admin can also update his profile, change the password and recover the password.

    User Modules

    This module has two type user one is unregistered user and other is registered users.

    Unregistered Users

    Unregistered user only view the home, contact us, about us and found item pages for claim the item or list the found item they must be registered themselves.

    Registered Users

    Dashboard: In this section, user can briefly view total found items, new request, claimed request, rejected request, user claim request.

    Found Item: In this section, user can manage found item (Add/Update/Delete).

    Item Claim Request: In this section, user can manage claim request and change the status according to current scenario.

    My Claim: In this section, user can view the status of his/her claim items.

    Reports: In this section, user can generate between dates report of claim request.

    User can also update his profile, change the password and recover the password.

    How to run the Lost and Found Portal Project using PHP and MySQL

    1. Download the project zip file

    2. Extract the file and copy lostfound folder

    3.Paste inside root directory(for xampp xampp/htdocs, for wamp wamp/www, for lamp var/www/Html)

    4.Open PHPMyAdmin (http://localhost/phpmyadmin)

    5. Create a database with the name  lostandfounddb

    6. Import lostandfounddb.sql file(given inside the zip package in SQL file folder)

    7. Run the script http://localhost/lostfound

    Username: admin@gmail.com

    Password: Test@123

    *************************User Login Details**********************************

    Username: tetsuer@t.com

    Password: Test@123

    OR Register a new user.
