Perficient Insights: Dreamforce 2024 with Eric Walk

    August 1, 2024

As we gear up for Dreamforce 2024, we’re excited to share insights from one of Perficient’s key leaders, Eric Walk. With over 13 years of experience in the industry, Eric brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective on the evolving landscape of enterprise data strategy.

Tell us about yourself and your role at Perficient

Eric Walk has been a driving force at Perficient for over a decade. Starting his journey in business process management and enterprise document management, Eric’s career has evolved alongside the rapidly changing tech landscape. He’s led initiatives in big data and cloud computing, and now holds a pivotal role as the leader of enterprise data strategy across all of Perficient’s global practices.

“In my role at Perficient, I’m an advisor to chief data officers and other executives at our clients,” Eric explains. This position allows him to leverage his extensive experience to guide businesses through the complexities of modern data management and strategy.

What are you most excited about for Dreamforce 2024?

Eric’s enthusiasm for Dreamforce 2024 is palpable. He’s particularly keen on exploring how organizations are leveraging data more effectively through Salesforce’s Data Cloud. “I’m really excited to see how folks are using data more effectively and driving better decision making in their business processes,” he shares.

Another area of interest for Eric is the evolution of Einstein Copilot and its potential to revolutionize process automation. He’s also looking forward to discovering new capabilities in Tableau and its deeper integration with other Salesforce products.

How do you plan to apply the knowledge gained at Dreamforce to your role at Perficient?

For Eric, Dreamforce is more than just a conference—it’s a valuable opportunity to enhance his advisory capabilities. “The knowledge that I’m going to gain finding new ways to use the Salesforce platform and to integrate Salesforce better into the overall enterprise architecture, I think is going to be really valuable in that work as an advisor,” he states.

Moreover, Eric sees Dreamforce as a chance to uncover new avenues for growing Perficient’s business and expanding their service offerings to clients.

What Salesforce product or feature are you hoping to learn more about at this year’s event?

Eric’s focus is squarely on the advancements in AI and data integration within the Salesforce ecosystem. He’s particularly interested in the developments of Data Cloud, Einstein, and Tableau.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing more about the evolution and revolution of AI and data integration within the Salesforce platform,” Eric enthuses. He’s especially excited about the potential for more conversational capabilities in Tableau and the expansion of Pulse from a proactive to a prescriptive tool.

What’s one thing you hope to bring back to your team from Dreamforce?

For Eric and his strategy team at Perficient, understanding Salesforce’s roadmap is crucial. “We, on our strategy team, spend a lot of time thinking about the broader industry and where all of our vendor partners are going,” he explains.

Eric hopes to gain deeper insights into Salesforce’s future directions, which will help his team better understand how Salesforce stacks up in the broader market. This knowledge is invaluable for strategic planning and for providing informed guidance to Perficient’s clients.
