Collaboration within Talent Acquisition | Sourcing and Recruiting at Perficient

    July 31, 2024

Our colleagues are always recognized as the reason behind our success! We’re building an environment that challenges, champions, and celebrates its people. At Perficient, you are part of something truly special. We bring diverse perspectives, knowledgeable insights, and dynamic mindsets to our global community. Follow along as Katie Burwell- Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist and Vasanthabalan Arumugam- Talent Acquisition Specialist/Sourcer discuss the way in which they work together to successfully source and recruit top talent!

“Vasanth, I had the opportunity to speak with Katie this afternoon. She speaks very highly of you and how you help in identifying the right candidates for her to speak with. I appreciate you taking the time to review my background and identifying me as a potential fit for Perficient. It’s very hard to stand out in today’s job market with so many candidates and ease in applying for positions.”- Potential Perficient Colleague

If you build it, they will come

So, how do you build an environment that challenges, champions and celebrates its people?

We will tell you; it starts with a blend of the best and brightest people on our Talent Acquisition (TA) team! Our TA team is comprised of about 40 individuals: 19 technical recruiters, 3 sales recruiters, 2 sales sourcers, 7 technical sourcers in India, 4 talent acquisition coordinators, 4 managers and 1 director! TA is often viewed as the gate keepers of talent. The role we play is very strategic in being able to attract and retain top-tier talent. We take pride in being able to identify the right colleagues.

First Impression comes from Talent Acquisition

Therefore, sourcers and recruiters serve as the initial point of contact for potential colleagues. Their conversation may be slightly different from the recruiter’s conversation, but they are generally similar in nature. That first conversation set the tone for candidate experience and may impact the colleague’s interest in the role.

So, what’s the difference? Why are they so important!

Let us explain more, sourcing refers to proactively identifying, contacting, and engaging qualified candidates for a job opening rather than waiting for candidates to apply on their own. Since this falls under the umbrella of talent acquisition, recruiters may handle sourcing as one of their responsibilities, but some organizations use dedicated sourcers who focus only on this task. Perficient uses both!

The primary goal is to identify qualified candidates, especially passive candidates into the hiring funnel.

Furthermore, recruiting involves managing relationships with candidates and guiding them through the company’s screening process. Recruiters may use a variety of techniques including employee referrals and social networking.

While each has a defined role, their responsibilities are blended to be able to identify top-tier talent to join Perficient! They rely on one another!

How we collaborate | sourcing and recruiting at Perficient

Above all, collaboration is about constant communication. It is built on forging a positive working relationship and a level of trust. We share information about the marketplace, colleagues, the hiring manager and what they are seeking, the role itself and any additional skills needed/required. We are setting one another up for success within talent acquisition.

We often discuss any changes within the role or hiring process. You can find Katie and Vasanth speaking daily through MS Teams, Chat or Email!

Dynamic mindsets within our global community!

In conclusion, Perficient’s business is built upon our people and the services we deliver for our clients. You have the power to make an individual difference and collective impact.

If you are interested in an environment that challenges, champions, and celebrates its people please connect with us!
