A Memorable Trip to Munnar with Team

    May 20, 2024

One fine evening, amidst our busy work life cycle, the project team at Perficient decided to take a break to relax and enjoy nature for our well-being. It all started with a casual conversation during a lunch break. Together, we planned a wonderful trip to Munnar, a breathtaking hill station nestled in the Western Ghats of Kerala, India. Join us as we share our adventure-filled trip to Munnar.

    Day 1: The Journey Begins

We all gathered at the urban square in Guindy and boarded the bus to Munnar, our excitement was high as our plan had finally come together. During the bus journey, we played games, snacked, filling the bus with joy and laughter. We took a break to freshen up, had tea, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast before continuing our travel. The scenic drive to Munnar was a breathtaking experience, with lush greenery, rolling hills, and stunning views accompanying us along the way. The beauty of the journey was a prelude to the wonders that awaited us in Munnar.

Upon arriving at our resort nestled amidst the hills, we took some time to relax before beginning our exploration. Our first adventure was the exhilarating 1800-meter-long zipline, which left us thrilled and invigorated. Next, we visited the Carmela Giri Elephant Park, where we had the incredible opportunity to get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures. To end the day, we explored a naturalistic nursery, marvelling at the diverse array of organic plants. The hour spent there was a refreshing break during nature’s beauty.

As the day ended, we returned to our resort, enjoyed a Kerala-style dinner, and had a lot of fun sharing ghost stories. We were tired but happy, ready to rest and recharge for the adventures that awaited us on Day 2.

Day 2:  A Day of Adventure and Exploration

The second day of our trip began with a glorious morning, as we woke up feeling refreshed and happy. After freshening up, we set out to explore the wonders of Munnar, starting with a delicious breakfast that energized us for the day ahead.

Our first adventure of the day was an exhilarating jeep safari ride, where we explored the zamazing places Munnar has to offer. The safari was accompanied by music, adding to the thrill of the ride. Each of us enjoyed the jeep ride, soaking in the beauty of the surroundings. With the jeep, we first explored a tea plantation, immersing ourselves in the beauty of nature. We clicked lots of pictures, capturing the serene beauty of the tea gardens. Next, we visited a stunning Viripara waterfall, where we enjoyed the cold, fresh water. The experience was truly refreshing, and we had a wonderful time splashing around in the falls.

After a delicious lunch, especially the Kerala spicy fish, which was wonderful, we proceeded to our next destination, Tiger Cave. Situated 3 km away from Viripara, Tiger Cave offered a trek along the riverside, through bamboo forests, and medicinal plantations. A small hanging bridge added to the adventure, enriching our wild experience. To conclude our adventurous day with some sweets, we visited a chocolate factory, where we tasted a variety of chocolates and bought some to take home. Back at the resort, we bought some extra foods from a fabulous restaurant and enjoyed them on the rooftop. We ended the day with sharing stories and laughter, making it a truly remarkable day filled with fun and joy.

And with that, we retired for the night, looking forward to the adventures that awaited us on our final day in Munnar.

Day 3: A final Day Adventure

On our last day in Munnar, we woke up with a mix of emotions, feeling both sad that our trip was coming to an end and excited for the day’s adventures. After a quick breakfast, we packed our bags and checked out of the resort, ready to explore more of this beautiful hill station.

We embarked on one last jeep safari, heading towards a wonderful boating spot in Munnar. Along the way, we passed by towering dams, capturing group photos before continuing our journey. Finally, we reached the boating spot, where we were greeted by the beauty of nature. Surrounded by hills and rivers, it was a sight to behold. We took some time to soak in the serenity of the place before embarking on an exciting boat ride. The experience was truly delightful, and we enjoyed every moment of it.

After experiencing all the adventures, we finally boarded the bus to Chennai. As we bid farewell to Munnar, our hearts are filled with gratitude and cherished memories. Our time here has been truly magical, filled with adventure, laughter, and breathtaking beauty. This trip has been more than just a getaway; it has been a journey of self-discovery and camaraderie that will remain with us always. Thank you, Munnar, for the unforgettable moments.
