    Nights in Jail

    June 11, 2025

    Nights in Jail

In silence thick with shadow’s breath,
Behind cold bars that mimic death,
A soul sits still, yet burns inside,
Not crushed by shame, but dignified.

The clock forgets to sing of time,
Each tick a pause, each chime a climb,
Yet in the hush, a whisper grows —
A seed of strength the spirit sows.

Though stone and steel may cage the flesh,
The mind can soar, the heart refresh.
For even here, the stars still gleam,
And hope walks gently through a dream.

Walls can’t confine the will to rise,
Nor dim the fire behind one’s eyes.
These nights may echo loss and pain,
But through the dark, comes light again.

A lesson waits in every tear,
A vow to change, a path made clear.
The chains we wear are not our fate —
Each breath a chance to recreate.

So let the jailer lock the door,
Let silence stretch from floor to floor —
Inside, a new world starts to spin,
And dawn begins its work within.
