    Krishna and the Mango

    January 5, 2025

    Krishna and the Mango

In the quaint village of Vrindavan, a mischievous little Krishna loved playing pranks on his friends and family. One sunny day, while wandering through the village, Krishna spotted a juicy, ripe mango hanging from a tree.

Krishna’s eyes grew wide with desire, and he thought, “That mango is meant for me!” But, as he reached for it, the tree’s owner, a kind old man, shouted, “Hey, little Krishna! Don’t touch my mango!”

Krishna, being the quick-witted boy he was, replied, “I wasn’t going to eat your mango, sir. I was just… um… trying to help it ripen faster with my divine touch!” The old man chuckled and said, “Well, in that case, you may have one condition: you must answer my riddle. If you answer correctly, the mango is yours!”

Krishna’s face lit up with excitement. “I love riddles, sir! Please go ahead and ask me!” The old man smiled and said, “What can be broken, but never held? What can be given, but never sold?”

Krishna thought for a moment, tapping his chin with his finger. Suddenly, a bright smile spread across his face. “I know the answer, sir! The answer is a promise!” The old man’s eyes sparkled with delight. “You are absolutely right, young Krishna! The mango is yours!”

As Krishna plucked the mango from the tree, the old man added, “Remember, a promise is a precious thing. Always keep your word and make sure your actions match your words.” Krishna nodded, taking a big bite of the juicy mango. From that day on, he made sure to always keep his promises and spread joy throughout the village.
