Black Hat USA 2025 CISO Series Podcast

Calling out the cybersecurity community to mark their calendars! The Cyber Express is all set to release, this week, its Black Hat USA 2025 CISO Series Podcast, shot live at the venue, across its official channels.

The episodes shot live by The Cyber Express in Las Vegas, in collaboration with Suraksha Catalyst, captured some of the most enthralling conversations shaping the future of security leadership.

Viewers can catch the full series soon by keeping an eye across our social media platforms of The Cyber Express and its website.

Hosted by Paul Shread, International Editor of The Cyber Express, the podcast series brings together some of the heavy weights in cybersecurity leadership across sectors. Here’s a few of them:

    • Willy Leichter, Chief Marketing Officer at PointGuard AI
    • John Sapp Jr., Vice President, Information Security & CISO at Texas Mutual Insurance Company
    • Vandana Verma, Security Relations Leader at Snyk
    • Manmohan Singh, Deputy CISO at UT Southwestern Medical Center
    • Beenu Arora, Co-founder and CEO at Cyble
    • Sujeet Bambawale, Senior Director of Security Engineering at Synopsys Inc. and more…

AI Security and Governance Take Center Stage

With AI dominating both innovation and risk conversations, the conversation naturally gravitated toward the question: What must CISOs know—and show—about AI security and governance? Panelists stressed that security leaders can no longer afford to treat AI as a futuristic concern. Instead, it is already shaping enterprise risk, data privacy, and regulatory compliance. The consensus was clear, organizations must embed security into the DNA of AI systems, ensuring governance structures keep pace with the speed of innovation.

In one of the most engaging episodes, the conversation spotlighted the role of women leaders in bridging borders between India and the United States. This dedicated women’s panel was hosted by Gurdeep Kaur of Suraksha Catalyst, who guided discussions with Sakshi Porwal and Vandana Verma. Both leaders spoke passionately about representation, mentorship, and the growing influence of women in shaping the cybersecurity agenda globally.

AI in Healthcare: Keeping Digital Health Secure

With hospitals and research institutions increasingly reliant on AI for diagnostics, drug discovery, and patient care, managing AI risks in healthcare emerged as a critical priority. The outcome from our discussion: healthcare CISOs must balance innovation with stringent safeguards to protect sensitive patient data and ensure uninterrupted care delivery.

The podcast series does not shy away from addressing the personal toll of security leadership. Conversations around the Life of a CISO, The First 100 Days, and Mental Health & Burnout in Security Leadership highlighted the pressures of protecting organizations while staying resilient themselves.

Some of the conversations at Black Hat USA 2025 CISO Series podcast also challenge long-standing assumptions about security practices. Topics such as The Death of Standing Access and IGA is Dead: Long Live Identity Automation reflected the growing shift toward zero-trust models and automation-driven identity security. Meanwhile, discussions on AI-powered threat management and AI for cyber defense reinforced how artificial intelligence is not only the problem but also the solution—reshaping how threats are identified, contained, and neutralized.

Why You Shouldn’t Miss the Black Hat USA 2025 CISO Series

What sets the Black Hat USA 2025 CISO Series Podcast apart is its balance between technical depth and human experience. It is not merely about new technologies or regulatory hurdles but about the evolving identity of the modern CISO.

With its release just around the corner on The Cyber Express channel, this Black Hat USA 2025 CISO series podcast is set to offer cybersecurity professionals, industry leaders, and enthusiasts a front-row seat to the most relevant discussions of the year.
