CVE-2023-32251 – Linux Kernel ksmbd Dictionary Attack Bypass

    July 31, 2025

    CVE ID : CVE-2023-32251

    Published : July 31, 2025, 9:15 p.m. | 3 hours, 11 minutes ago

Description : A vulnerability has been identified in the Linux kernel’s ksmbd component (kernel SMB/CIFS server). A security control designed to prevent dictionary attacks, which introduces a 5-second delay during session setup, can be bypassed through the use of asynchronous requests. This bypass negates the intended anti-brute-force protection, potentially allowing attackers to conduct dictionary attacks more efficiently against user credentials or other authentication mechanisms.

    Severity: 3.7 | LOW

Is it recommended to use JMETER for API testing? How can I do this when I pass multiple request payloads via csv to add assertions?

    May 24, 2025

I want to do API testing adding Assertions to the response. Can JMETER be used for this? The assertion would be added on an array of multiple ids. Is there a limit to the number of ids in the groovy script that need to be validated with assertion?
Also I used bunch of request payloads as csv input file for load test, how do I addd asserrtions for the multiple responses?
